Paul Weller has had former the Oasis songwriter turning his hands to playing drums for him in a recent recording session. He also cost a lot less than your average session muso, according to Weller. “I haven’t hired him, he came free,” Weller told Absolute Radio. “He’s a great drummer. He always keeps it fat and funky, you know, that’s how we like it.”
Giving Gallagher’s musical talents the thumbs up, Weller said, “He’s a good all-rounder, people don’t realise what a good musician he is, he can plays keys, bass, all sorts really, harmonica, electric kettle, all sorts.” There’s no word on whether Weller will be releasing the studio efforts, or if indeed Gallagher might accompany The Modfather on his Australian tour this October.
