Gold Class, one of Melbourne’s most talked-about bands, have unveiled their latest single, ‘Kids On Fire’, and it’s yet another example of the quartet’s knack for writing propulsive yet ethereal, post-punk-style rock music.
Recorded at Tropical Fuckstorm Studios and produced by Aaron Cupples (The Vaccines, The Drones, Paul Kelly), ‘Kids On Fire’ gives listeners the first taste of what they can expect from Gold Class’s follow-up to their debut LP, It’s You.
The track comes complete with a new music video, directed and filmed by Geoffrey O’Connor. “I’ve always wanted to make something with a bit of a venetian blind shadow play and luckily Gold Class let me do it,” said the filmmaker.
“It felt cruel making them play the song extra fast with a bright light flashing in their eyes, if they never perform this song again it’s probably my fault.” Check out the clip and the band’s upcoming shows below.
