With Metallica hitting Australian shores with their World Magnetic Tour next week, they’ve announced a treat for fans with the release of a limited edition EP – Six Feet Down Under.

The eight track EP, to be released on Monday 20th September, features two live recordings from every previous Australian tour by the metal icons. As the band only started making sound board recordings at every show in 2004, the material from the 1989, 1993 and 1998 tours has been sourced from bootleg recordings. [See the irony in that folks – Metallica who sued Napster were forced to suck up to bootleggers- Ed] The band warns fans: “Be gentle with us . . . a few of these songs are, well, we’ll say “rough,” which may be an understatement!! They do, however, capture the live moments and hopefully you’ll have as much fun listening as we did playing on those nights.”
