Sydney producer Enschway aka Nic Schweighoffer has just dropped his first record for new label Sweat It Out, collaborative EP Friendschway Vol 2.

Having just dropped the record last week, we’ve nabbed Nic’s thoughts on each of the tracks and how the collaborations with the likes of Kuren and O5CAR all came to be.

“The idea of the Friendschway EP is to collaborate with artists whose work I love, but are also my [mates]…” he says. “I’d love it to evolve into a series of collaboration EP’s over the next few years; collaborating with friends, and also more underground talent that I feel should have more recognition.”

Having only dropped his first track on SoundCloud late last year, tracks like his collab with LOLO BX on ‘Counting With You’ have already seen him score remix duties for Slumberjack on Mad Decent and a spot at Splendour In The Grass.

Give Friendschway a spin below, and if you could see this one sitting snugly in your next party playlist, The EP is available now through Sweat It Out/Warner Music Australia.

Enschway & Kuren – Taking Hold ft. Turquoise Prince

Kuren & I made this song over a year ago then decided that it needed some vocals; so we added Turquoise Prince to the equation.
Taking Hold for me is the most emotional song I’ve made so far. We tried to get the heavy in your face synths & the vocals to sit in line with one another and compliment each other which was hard but needed to intensify the emotion.

Enschway & Crystalize – Falling ft. Austen

In ‘Falling’ I wanted to distinctly portray the light and dark aspects my songs can have with the first drop being more light future bass full of arps and vocal lines and then the second drop being chaotic and an organised mess of distorted sounds. I picked Crystalize to help me do this because I feel his music can have very similar aspects.

Enschway & graves – Vulnerable

Christian (graves) and I were walking around chinatown eating rice noodles and drinking kombucha when it started to rain so we decided to head back to the hotel and work on music. I opened up and old project of mine. We just started working and finished it up in the hotel studio (our laptops on the coffee table). We got vocals for it and we really loved how it fit so we went with it.

Enschway & O5CAR – Push Up

Mitch (O5CAR) sent me a project with this cool drop melody idea. I opened it up after a night out and started synthesising sounds drunk. Some how just ended up with the crazy drop lead and we just went with it from there… Mitch & I live around the corner from each other so we’d just frequently work on it week by week evolving it into what it is now.
