“I came 3,000 miles to do this, so to be part of a Metallica music video? Man, it’s living the dream.”
That was one man’s story, as he answered the open casting call for the video shoot of Metallica’s new clip ‘Halo On Fire’.
With a premise halfway between an ’80s punk show and an underground fight club, the video is a visceral blast that more than matches the aggression in the tune – and a ten-minute long behind-the-scenes documentary sheds light on how the clip was constructed.
“We practiced many times, but it was different at different stages of our practice,” one of the women in the fight scenes, explains. “At first, we would just do it in the RV and then here without any people. With the people it was just a totally different level. It was so fun.”
Check out the video, below, as well as the final clip. Hetfield looks like he is having a lot of fun, too.
