Every year the unlikely surrounds of the Melbourne Zoo become one of the country’s best music venues, and 2018 will be no exception as it pulls back the curtain on a stacked Zoo Twilights series for January next year.
Joining the previously-announced Ben Folds (who’ll be taking requests from the audience all night) will be Melbourne’s Teskey Brothers, Aussie electronic heroes Cut Copy and pop legends The Sunnyboys, as well as a big show from Liam and Neill Finn.
It doesn’t stop there, as Hiatus Kaiyote, Grizzly Bear, The Preatures and Kate Miller-Heidke are all playing shows, along with Jet, who reform for their biggest live show since their split in 2012.
Best of all are the support acts, who range from some of the country’s best new talent to a host of local legends, while beloved music show RocKwiz is even getting in on the act with a special edition of their RocKwiz LIVE! show for one night only.
The summer series runs every weekend from Friday January 26 to Saturday March 10 next year, with food trucks and bars taking over the beautiful outdoor space, and every gig is all-ages too.
Best of all, profits from every ticket go to helping fight the extinction of 21 at-risk Victorian species, with the mascot this year being the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, which survives only on small islands.
