Ahead of his set at A Weekend In The Gardens at tomorrow (Nov 18) Illy offers his Top 5 festival tips.
1) Pack a hoodie
Unless it’s peak summer, or you’re in Darwin, you’ll probably be thankful for it when the sun goes down.
2) Pace yourself!
No point getting too wasted to last the distance. No one wants to spend all day babysitting, or worse, leaving early because you’ve gone too hard. Which leads to number three.
3) Look after your mates
Obvious, but yeah, who cares if you’ve wanted to see the headline act for ages. Friends come first. Always!
4) Don’t be stupid
There are often police dogs, plain-clothed officers, very young people, parents, and all sorts of other people who won’t be cool with some types of good times. Act accordingly.
5) Know the words!
There’s nothing better than seeing people who don’t know the words mouthing jibberish back at you from the crowd. Which is sick – if they’re having a good time, great! But festival wrap up videos have long memories…
