Eagles Of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes is no stranger to controversy, but today he appears to have offended yet another group of fans thanks to his recent comments attacking the “pathetic and disgusting” actions of firearms protesters in the United States.
As you might recall, Jesse Hughes was at the forefront of the infamous 2015 terror attack on France’s Bataclan theatre, where his band, Eagles Of Death Metal were playing. The incident tragically left 89 dead, including the band’s merchandise manager.
Following this incident, Hughes made some rather inflammatory remarks, in which he claimed he “saw Muslims celebrating in the street during the attack,” and also criticised those who supported gun control, asking “did your French gun control stop a single person from dying at the Bataclan?”
Now, as Consequence Of Sound reports, Jesse Hughes has continued his streak of insensitivity with a series of (mostly-deleted) posts to Instagram in which he again took aim at those who are currently protesting for safer gun laws in the US.
“When the truth don’t line up with your bullshit narrative just hold your breath and stamp your feet and refused to except it,” he wrote on Instagram as a caption for an image which likened gun control to a man cutting his penis off to prevent rape. “Then take multiple days off of school playing hooky at the expense of 16 of your classmates blood….!…. it might be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic and disgusting.”
“As the survivor of a mass shooting I can tell you from first-hand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and abuse and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action…..Long Live Rock’n’Roll….. and may everyone of these disgusting vile abusers of the dead live as long as possible so they can have the maximum amount of time to endure their shame….and be Cursed….”
Jesse Hughes also made a series of other posts which have since been deleted that included similarly inflammatory sentiments. These Tweets included a photo of a patch in support of the US’ Second Amendment, a pro-gun meme, and a doctored image of Emma González, a survivor of February’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and one of the most vocal voices of the current firearm protests, ripping up the US constitution.
Hey, @jesseEODM I think going out of your way to attack a fellow victim of gun violence, let alone a child, is a pretty pussy ass move. Might wanna check yourself cause your ignorance is showing.

Neither Jesse Hughes nor the rest of Eagles Of Death Metal are yet to make any comment in relation to these posts or the widespread backlash they have received.
