Vivid Sydney is back and even bigger for 2018 – but that’s not just marketing spin. This year, the festival actually is getting quite a lot bigger, as its X|Celerate program spreads the love across not just the bigger CBD venues, but also the smaller local haunts in the inner suburbs.
The lineup is brilliant and diverse, but the gigs aren’t blowing the budget (mostly coming in under 20 bucks, with many of them free), and they’ll be making their way to intimate venues like the Golden Age Cinema and Bar or Venue 505 in Surry Hills, The Lady Hampshire in Camperdown, Freda’s in Chippendale, Oxford Art Factory on Oxford Street, and the Leadbelly in Newtown.
