As per usual, triple j has spent the last week delivering some absolutely amazing tracks to your ears, with amazing Aussie acts getting plenty of spin, while sharing the spotlight with our international friends as well. With so many amazing artists and songs floating around the airwaves, it can be a little hard to keep track of what we’ve been listening to over the week.
Well, thanks to our friends over at J Play, you don’t have to worry about not knowing who the most popular artists on triple j are each week any more.

20. Golden Features
Golden Features has been doing what he does best lately, and that’s totally dominating the airwaves. With ‘Worship’ currently the ninth most-played track on the station, and debut album SECT set for release next month, Golden Features is on track to being one of this year’s biggest acts.
19. Luca Brasi
Luca Brasi have been going from strength to strength with every piece of music that they release. With their latest album, Stay, being released last week, and their single ‘Clothes I Slept In’ just creeping into this week’s most-played tracks, the future is looking bright for these Tasmanian rockers.
18. Rudimental
Rudimental are gearing up to release their first album in three years, Toast To Our Differences, in September, and they’ve been releasing a few new tunes in anticipation. With their latest, the album’s title track, currently the eighth most-played tune on the station this week, you haven’t heard the last of Rudimental just yet.
17. Trophy Eyes
Trophy Eyes recently announced that their latest album, The American Dream, is on the way, and to help make this news even more exciting, the group also released their latest single, ‘You Can Count On Me’, which has become this week’s seventh most-played track. Keep a close eye on Trophy Eyes, ’cause you can count on them being one of this year’s most popular names once again.
16. Parkway Drive
Australia’s metalcore legends Parkway Drive recently returned with their latest album, Reverence. Their first album since 2015’s Ire, the record even scored itself a #1 debut on the ARIA charts, the honour of being triple j’s feature album, and has even seen tracks like ‘The Void’ and ‘Prey’ get a decent airing on the triple j airwaves – the former of which being named this week’s 15th most-played track.
15. The Wombats
Honorary Aussies The Wombats are still going strong thanks to their fourth album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, and fans are loving it. Heading our way for Splendour In The Grass next month, and also announced for the Spilt Milk festival later in the year, you can expect to be hearing more of these loveable Englishmen in the coming months.
14. DMA’s
DMA’s recently returned with their latest album, For Now, and fans have been loving the group’s Britpop-infused tunes. With tracks like ‘Do I Need You Now?’ having served as one of the most-played tunes on the station in recent times, the group are undoubtedly on track for another amazing year.
13. Ocean Alley
Having won fans all over the world with the release of their brilliant single ‘The Comedown’, last year, Ocean Alley released their debut album, Chiaroscuro, a while back now. Having also served as triple j’s feature album, Chiaroscuro showcases the group’s slick jams and stunning sound, with listeners continuing to love everything they hear from this amazing collective.
12. Riton & Kah-Lo
While British DJ Riton and Nigerian singer/songwriter Kah-Lo have been releasing a number of tunes together in recent times, their latest, ‘Ginger’, has clearly resonated with triple j listeners. So much so that it has managed to score the honour of fourth most-played track this week.
11. Vera Blue
Vera Blue had an absolutely stunning 2018 thanks to a number of brilliant cuts from her debut album, Perennial, tearing up the airwaves over the last year. While none of her tracks have made it into this week’s most-played list, it just goes to show how popular her brilliant tunes are with eager triple j listeners.

10. Tonight Alive
Tonight Alive kicked off their tenth year as a band by releasing their fourth album, Underworld, back in January. With tracks like ‘Temple’ and ‘Disappear’ still getting plenty of airplay, Tonight Alive are continuing to prove themselves as one of the hardest-working bands in the country.
9. Courtney Barnett
Courtney Barnett recently made her full-blown return to the charts with her second album, Tell Me How You Really Feel, and listeners have been lapping up every single song from the record. With tracks like ‘Nameless, Faceless’ and ‘Need A Little Time’ still doing the rounds, this is certainly not the last you’ve heard from ol’ Courts.
8. Ziggy Alberts
Ziggy Alberts has been on the scene for a few years now, making a name for himself as one of the most chilled and breezy musos out there. With ‘Love Me Now’ currently serving as this week’s fourth most-played track, you can be certain that you’ll be hearing plenty more of Ziggy Alberts in the months to come.
7. Odette
Odette’s debut single ‘Watch Me Read You’ managed to leave a huge impression triple j listeners last year, reaching #56 in the Hottest 100, but now ‘Take It To The Heart’ is winning fans over, currently serving as the twelfth most-played track for the week. An amazing taste of her debut album, To A Stranger, Odette is going to have a pretty huge year in 2018.
6. Rüfüs Du Sol
Rüfüs recently made their big comeback to the world of Aussie music, dropping a taste of their new album with ‘No Place’, and formally announcing they’re to be known as Rüfüs Du Sol from here on out. A rose by any other name certainly does smell as sweet, because ‘No Place’ has been tearing up the airwaves enough to be given the honour of this week’s second most-played track.
5. A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky released his latest album, Testing, just last month, and in addition to hitting #5 on the ARIA charts, it’s also scored a bit of airplay on triple j as well, with latest single ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’ (which features a guest spot from Skepta), managing to be named the sixth most-played track on the station this week.
4. The Presets
The Presets recently released their first album in almost six years, Hi Viz, and fans have been loving everything they’ve heard. Full of the brilliant hits that we’ve come to know and love from the lads, the album is on track to be one of the year’s biggest, with ‘Downtown Shutdown’ serving as the station’s third most-played track this week.
3. Mallrat
We recently saw Mallrat and Allday team up to deliver ‘UFO’, the product of two of Australia’s best modern hip-hop luminaries coming together to serve up an absolute belter of a track. Now Mallrat has released her latest EP, In The Sky, and it has been going gangbusters on the airwaves, with ‘Groceries’ becoming this week’s most-played track.
2. Cosmo’s Midnight
After plenty of time spent keeping us waiting, Cosmo’s Midnight recently released their stunning debut album, What Comes Next. Full of brilliant tunes and having served as the station’s feature album, the twin-brother duo have finally given listeners a full collection of their slick tunes. With the group gearing up for a national tour next month, you can be sure that you’ll be hearing plenty more from these two in the future.
1. Jack River
After plenty of time giving us some sweet tunes, Jack River recently released her debut album, Sugar Mountain, last week. While tracks like ‘Ballroom’ and ‘Limo Song’ doing the rounds in recent months, this new collection of tracks is set to make listeners completely fall even more in love with this stunning musician.
