For Australian heavy music lovers, it’s coming up to that time of year once again where speculation runs high, last year’s beaten up mosh shoes come out of hiding and gearing up for a weekend of camping begins.

Now, to get your mosh-senses tingling, the legends behind Unify Gathering have dropped some juicy hints as to who you can expect to see on 2019’s lineup in a recent post to Facebook, that details some improvements they intend to make to the festival next year.

Organisers have promised sets from “a bunch of International artists doing EXCLUSIVE shows, we’ll have some special album shows from multiple artists, exclusive reunion and throwback shows, and of course some sets by the artists that released the best heavy records of 2017/2018 on there as well”, in which they describe will be like an “awesome sports team full of superstars”.

To start the hype train rolling, here are a few potential acts we reckon could fit the bill:

In terms of international artists, A Day To Remember and The Devil Wears Prada will both be celebrating the ten year anniversaries of their respective albums Homesick and Roots Above And Branches Below, next year, which would make for a epic throwback sets amongst the metalcore loving crowd.

Scene legends and recent Hopeless records signees Underoath released their comeback record Erase earlier this year and would make for a huge headliner. Other heavy acts who’ve released stellar heavy albums in 2017 and 2018, who are due for a tour include Code Orange and Turnstile, as well as much loved pop punkers The Wonder Years and State Champs.

Other Aussie acts we hope to see, who’ve had massive years in 2017 and 18 include High Tension, Eat Your Heart Out, Slowly Slowly, Stand Atlantic, Justice For The Damned, Thornhill and Trophy Eyes. We’re already tired just thinking about what could potentially be.

Last year’s lineup featured Australian heavy music icons Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction, Polaris and Hellions, as well as international favourites Knuckle Puck, Architects and more.

Festival organisers also updated punters on rumours that the festival was set to extend its capacity to 15, 000 people, saying that they haven’t yet decided on what capacity they’ll sell tickets for in 2019.

“In regards to capacity, there are rumours going around that we are planning on increasing our capacity to 15,000 people, which isn’t true. The site can safely hold up to that many but truth be told we haven’t decided on our capacity. We’re only planning to increase slightly while we work on delivering the best experience possible on our new site.”

They also addressed the long wait times it took for punters to enter the festival earelir this year, as well as the ‘Unicoin’ process, which they noted would be worked on for 2019.
