Scene & Heard Festival has announced A Farmers Day Out, an assistance and fundraising initiative designed to help farmers doing it tough. They will be offering 100 free tickets to rural Aussies in the wake of the ongoing drought and will also include donation tins at the event gates with all proceeds going to charity Buy A Bale.
“Newcastle is surrounded by an incredibly resilient rural community and in times of financial strain, leisure activities such as going to a live music event are put on the back burner for many. Studies have shown attending live music events can reduce stress levels. Festival Organisers hope A Farmers Day Out will provide a rare opportunity for some local farmers to get some much needed downtime.” states a press release.
Scene & Heard is abrand-new festival that isn’t just a line-up but an immersive journey back to when Spotify didn’t exist, and that 1999 triple j Hottest 100 CD was the only thing repeating on the car stereo. Sporting a lineup featuring The Living End, Sneaky Soundsystem, and Killing Heidi, there’s something for everyone.

The festival takes place at Wickham Park in Newcastle on Sunday 4th November. Rural workers can register for the online ballot HERE before the end of September. If you’re lucky enough to win, you’ll be notified by early October.
The festival also promises heaps of cool stuff aside from live music. Other fun ativities include a classic car display, vintage vinyl fair and markets, food trucks, plus small batch craft brews and premium suds.
