Liam Gallagher has reportedly buried the hatchet with Alex Turner, making peace with the Arctic Monkeys frontman after criticising him for his ‘American accent’ back in 2017.

Late last year, Liam Gallagher hit out at Alex Turner’s supposed accent change, which apparently occurred after the rocker moved to Los Angeles back in 2012.

Speaking to Radio 1’s Greg James, Gallagher criticised the artists who make a move from their native UK, only to come back with Americanised mannerisms.

“The singing’s alright for me, you know what I mean?”, Gallagher began. “It’s when they do an interview and that later on down the line and they’ve been to America once and they come back.”

“They start speaking American. You know what I mean? They’re the ones. Like the geezer from the Arctic Monkeys. He did it, didn’t he? He started getting his hair in a quiff and biker leather jackets on.”

“You know what I mean? It’s like, when he goes back to his mum’s, does he really walk in with that biker leather jacket and go [in an American accent] ‘Hey mum, can I have some tea?’ She’s going to give him a clip isn’t she?”

However, it seems as though the pair have since set aside their differences, reportedly sharing a beer together in Hungary earlier this month.

As The Sun reports, a source explained that their pair were spotted at a hotel in Budapest, Hungary, where they reportedly drank and conversed for hours on end.

“Liam has definitely mellowed over the past year, particularly since reuniting with his daughter Molly,” the source explained. “He’s realised that sometimes he is too quick to speak before thinking things through.”

“He really took a shine to Budapest and was in a top mood when he bumped into Alex at Sziget Festival.”

“Alex was there ahead of the Arctic Monkeys performance on Tuesday and after they got chatting backstage they ended up back at a local hotel until the early hours, drinking and talking about music.”

“Liam is definitely a changed-for-the-better man. Alex didn’t seem to be holding any grudge, they got on like a house on fire.”

While it seems that Liam Gallagher seems to be in the business of repairing broken friendships, maybe his newfound attitude might be what convinced him to attempt an Oasis reunion with brother Noel Gallagher recently?
