Iconic musician Neil Young and actress Daryl Hannah appear to be married, with varying reports indicating that the pair tied the knot over the weekend.
Back in 2014, Neil Young filed for divorce from his wife of 36 years, Pegi. Soon afterwards, it was reported that he had entered a relationship with US actress Daryl Hannah. Now, it appears as though the pair have made their relationship well and truly official.
As The Mirror reports, the pair seem to have been married during a ceremony in front of close friends in Atascadero, California on Saturday. Reports indicate that an earlier ceremony was also held aboard Young’s yacht in July, which saw them travel to the San Juan islands.
If you’re wondering why the details are a little unclear, it’s namely because not only have the pair not officially confirmed the news, but even close friends like Neil Young’s guitarist seemed unaware of the news.
“Congratulations to Daryl Hannah and Neil Young on their wedding today,” wrote Mark Miller on Facebook, before noting “I only knew about it because one of my friends attended the ceremony in Atascadero and announced it on his page.”
Likewise, the administrator of Neil Young’s blog helped to confirm the news as well. “Congrats N & D,” they wrote. “No word on first dance song, but it probably wasn’t the Bluenotes ‘Married Man.’”
When asked if the wedding was official, the administrator replied, “Several attendees at (the) reception yesterday in central CA area have confirmed. Described as a ‘shindig.’”
So far, the only acknowledgement from either Neil Young or Daryl Hannah appears to come from the latter’s Instagram account, where she posted a seemingly-cryptic post that read, “someone’s watching over us…. love & only love.”
While fans were quick to jump in and offer their congratulations, the pair are yet to address their union officially.
Incidentally, a Facebook user by the name of Ron Fugere, who is an experienced captain in the Pacific Northwest, also shared an image of what he claimed was the couple during their first ceremony.
“I hope Neil and Daryl will forgive me for sharing these photos taken July 27, 2018 in Echo Bay, Sucia Island, San Juan Islands, Washington State,” Fugere wrote.
“This is the sailing vessel WN Ragland, owned by our favourite musician,” he continued. “As the sun was setting and the full blood moon about to rise, there was an intimate ceremony held on deck.”
“We were probably the only people in the world to witness it.”
