A new book by Jon Savage detailing the oral history of Joy Division has been announced for release early next year. This Searing Light, the Sun and Everything Else: Joy Division – The Oral History is released on March 7th. Released through Faber and Faber, the book will feature interviews spanning over three decades. Check out the cover art below.
This is the latest in a series of books from Savage detailing the music and arts culture of the 20th century. The author has previously released the books England’s Dreaming: Sex Pistols and Punk Rock, Teenage: The Creation of Youth, 1875 – 1945 and 1966: The Year the Decade Exploded.
Pitchfork reports the new book contains interviews with several members of the group and those surrounding them including Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, Deborah Curtis, Peter Saville, and many others.
