Wollongong’s pop trailblazer Cyrus is back with triumphant, slow-burner ‘Blah’.
‘Blah’ was written by Cyrus and electronic up and comer Amastro, produced alongside Paul Rogers, who’s worked with a bunch of Aussie legends such as Thandi Phoenix, KLP and Samsaruh.
‘Blah’ is destined to be one of the biggest anthems of the summer – the track ebbs and flows between RnB inflicted grooves and meaty synth moments. For those hungry for a tantalizing cruise through pop-perfection, ‘Blah’ is the unashamedly catchy bop to satisfy.
Although ‘Blah’ may seem tailor-made for never-ending bittersweet summer parties, it’s message runs much deeper.
In a statement released Cyrus has detailed that ‘Blah’, “‘Blah’ is about dismissing the social norms and pressures that society places on us. I think everyone has or will experience this sort of pressure at some point in their lives, and can identify with the lyrics of this song.
Walking into this session, I told Angus (Amastro) I wanted to work on something heavy. It’s the most experimental session I’ve been in, and the concept for the song was literally inspired by how honest and free our time was together”.
