Another week has passed, and triple j have spent it doing what they do best – delivering endless hit tunes by a wide variety of brilliant artists from both here and abroad. Of course, with so many songs being played in a week, it can get pretty tough to know the artists that have been the most popular. That’s where we come in.

Thanks to our friends over at J Play, we’ve put together this article to make sure you don’t have to worry about not knowing who the most popular artists on triple j are each week any more.

20. Parcels

Parcels first blew up thanks to a breakthrough single that was produced by Daft Punk. Now, having dropped their debut record and nabbing Milla Jovovich to collaborate on the music video for ‘Withorwithout’, their single ‘lightenup’ has managed to become one of the most-played tracks in recent weeks.

19. Hands Like Houses

Hands Like Houses recently dropped their latest record, Anon., and fans have been absolutely loving it. The album was recently given the triple j Feature Album treatment as well, with listeners being given the chance to hear plenty of Hands Like Houses’ amazing tunes. With tracks like ‘Monster’ scoring plenty of love, this won’t be the last you’ve heard of Hands Like Houses.

18. San Cisco

San Cisco are currently nearing the end of a huge tour with Ball Park Music and Ruby Fields, so they decided to give fans a little something extra to scream out from the crowd. Titled ‘When I Dream’, this single is on track to be a big one, currently serving as this week’s twelfth most-played tune.

17. Skegss

Skegss released their long-awaited debut record My Own Mess recently, with triple j giving it the feature album treatment as well. Understandably, fans have been loving this absolute belter of a release, as tracks ‘Smogged Out’ and ‘Stop’ have been scoring endless amounts of love from their dedicated fans, with the latter serving as this week’s 16th most-played track.

16. GLADES

GLADES have been blowing up over the last year, seeing massive success thanks to their wide array of brilliant tunes. With ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ currently serving as this week’s 14th most-played track, you can expect to hear even more of GLADES in the future!

15. Eves Karydas

Eves Karydas has been on the scene for a number of years now, and has been delivering the goods ever since she first the airwaves. With singles like ‘Couch’ doing the rounds recently, she’s just announced her debut album, summerskin. While ‘Damn Loyal’ is scoring enough airplay to become the ninth most-played track this week, this is definitely not the last you’ve heard of Eves Karydas.

14. Miguel

It’s almost been a year since Miguel released his latest album, War & Leisure, but fans still can’t get enough of this brilliant musician. With a Like A Version performance under his belt, and a Live At The Wireless set hitting the airwaves recently, you can be sure you’ll be hearing plenty more of Miguel in the future.

13. Cub Sport

It feels like Cub Sport have hardly had anytime to put their feet up over the last year, but already these Brisbane musos are set to release a new album. With lead single ‘Sometimes’ the eighth most-played track this week, we’re eager as anything for 2019 to bring with it a new Cub Sport record.

12. Methyl Ethel

Methyl Ethel had a pretty stellar 2017, having scored the #4 on the Hottest 100, and receiving plenty of acclaim for the brilliance of their record, Everything Is Forgotten. Now, with the group back on the airwaves thanks to brilliant tracks like ‘Scream Whole’, they’ve currently got the eleventh most-played track for this week.

11. Thundamentals

Just a year after the release of Everyone We Know, Thundamentals are back with their latest record, I Love Songs. An album of love songs above all else, this record sees the group showing off their softer side, while never straying away from that stunning ability to captivate listeners at every turn. With ‘Everybody But You’ currently this week’s seventh most-played track, we reckon this album might end up on a few mixtapes for people’s crushes.

10. Matt Corby

Matt Corby has been dropping singles left and right in anticipation of his new record, Rainbow Valley. Having released ‘No Ordinary Life’ recently, his latest track, ‘All That I See’, is currently the sixth most-played track on the airwaves this week. Keep an eye out, because this one will be hanging around for a while.

9. Clea

Having been on the scene for a few years now, Brisbane’s Clea manages to keep on getting better and better. Having recently signed with New World Artists, Clea’s also released a brand-new single, ‘Dreaming’, which is getting plenty of spins on the station. Currently the fifth most-played track on triple j, this tune is set to be one heck of an anthem in no time.

8. Khalid

Khalid’s American Teen was only released back in 2017, but already the young muso is looking ahead to album number two. Having recently released his new jam, ‘Better’, the tune is the tenth most-played track, and it’s set to only go higher.

7. Meg Mac

While Meg Mac’s debut album, Low Blows, was one of the biggest releases of 2017, she’s already back with a brand new tune, and a bit of a different sound. ‘Give Me My Name Back’ is currently the fourth most-played track this week, and you can be sure it’ll be at the top in no time.

6. Middle Kids

Middle Kids are still riding high off the success of their debut album, Lost Friends, earlier this year, but they’re already looking to the future, gearing up to release a new EP in the new year. With ‘Salt Eyes’, the title track, currently this week’s third most-played track, you can be sure this one will be scoring plenty of airplay in the coming weeks.

5. Holy Holy

Acclaimed duo Holy Holy recently returned with their new single ‘Faces’, and triple j listeners are being reminded of why they love these two so much. With a new tour on the way next month, ‘Faces’ is this week’s second most-played track, and we’re bound to be hearing plenty more of it.

4. Anderson .Paak

Anderson .Paak has well and truly been delivering the goods this year. With his track ‘Bubblin” doing the rounds recently, he just dropped the Kendrick Lamar collab ‘Tints’, which is currently all over the airwaves. Another taste of Anderson .Paak’s upcoming album Oxnard, ‘Tints’ is the most-played track this week, and with good reason!

3. BROCKHAMPTON

BROCKHAMPTON released their new album, Iridescence, just a while back, and it’s an absolute belter. With the group having just wrapped up an Aussie tour with a stunning Like A Version performance, listeners have been loving the vast amount of brilliant tunes this stunning collective have been offering up. Needless to say, there’s a good chance BROCKHAMPTON will be remaining one of the most vital hip-hop groups for quite some time.

2. Nothing But Thieves

Nothing But Thieves might have wrapped up their Aussie tour a few months back, but fans are keeping the English rockers at the forefront of their minds. With ‘Forever & Ever More’ recently serving as one of the station’s most-played tracks, triple j listeners are keen to hear plenty more from this stunning quintet.

1. RÜFÜS DU SOL

Last week saw the newly-renamed RÜFÜS DU SOL release their third record, Solace, after months of anticipation. With the new collection recently scoring the role of triple j’s feature album, fans have had a chance to dive head-first into all of the classic tunes the band have on offer. With tracks like ‘Underwater’ and ‘No Place’ scoring plenty of love recently, you can be sure that RÜFÜS DU SOL will be well-represented in the 2018 Hottest 100.
