A documentary filmed in 1972 surrounding Aretha Franklin’s performances at New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles is set for release 46 years after it’s filming. Amazing Grace was originally left unreleased due to technical issues.

An accompaniment to the late singer’s 1972 gospel album of the same name, Amazing Grace documents Franklin’s multiple performances at the LA church. It will debut at DOC NYC film festival on November 12, check out a trailer for the film below.

The performances also served as the recording sessions for the album which quickly became the highest selling gospel album in history. The premiere of the film comes three months after Aretha Franklin passed away in August.
