Lauryn Hill has just kicked off the European leg of her 20th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, but things haven’t exactly gone as planned.
Hill left fans waiting for two hours at both her Brussels and Paris shows, putting the tardiness down to “kinks” in the production.
Taking to social media to apologise for the late starts, Hill noted that the team were “working through the kinks of moving the production to Europe, with time changes and curfew restrictions, we’ve had a few challenges in these early shows.”
“Every day we push past inertia to present something sincere.” Read the full statement below.

The tour is set to take in most of Europe up until December before the singer brings the album across to Australia for a very special run of shows in February.
While the tardiness is certainly not something fans want at least they received an apology, quite unlike Rihanna’s infamous late-start rant that she treated Adelaide fans too after making them wait for over 80 minutes.
That incident was received by boo’s and walkout’s, leaving fans furious.

Likewise, Madonna angered her Brisbane fanbase two years ago by arriving over two hours late onstage. She blamed the incident on being “high or drunk” as well as “sexism”, in a truly bizarre tirade.
With these incidents in mind, we can assume that when Ms Hill finds her way to Aussie shores, she might be slightly more appreciative of those paying money to see her. See below for full details.
