Metallica sure has been making some waves in the film industry lately.
After inspiring Jason Momoa for his Aquaman performance it seems that the metal juggernauts are keen to cement their mark on the world of film, and frontman James Hetfield is leading the charge.
Hetfield is set to feature in the new Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile (fitting for a Metallica member to feature in) and the trailer has been released for people to bask in his theatrical chops.
Following the story of Ted Bundy, who was a serial killer and necrophile (among other things), Hetfield plays a Utah patrolman who first arrested Bundy in 1975.
The role comes as Metallica’s music is ironically being scrutinised in a high-profile murder case in the US– potentially giving Hetfield some insider insight into pulling off the role.
Hetfield appears alongside Zac Effron who plays Bundy, in what looks to be an enthralling film that looks at how Bundy used his natural charisma and charm to lure innocent victims and try to win over the courts, before his execution in 1989. Check it out below.

The film is directed by Joe Berlinger, who also directed Metallica’s famous Some Kind Of Monster DVD, which captured the band imploding during the creation of their polarising LP St Anger.
