A veteran NYPD officer is under investigation for allegedly instructing his colleagues to shoot 50 Cent. As the New York Daily News reports, Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzales reportedly told his unit to “shoot him [50 Cent] on sight.”

Gonzales allegedly made the threat last year on June 7. When 50 Cent was scheduled to attend a NYPD sanctioned boxing match. Gonzales reportedly maintained that the comment was a “joke” when he was reported to NYPD Internal Affairs.

It has been reported that 50 Cent and Gonzales have prior beef. A month before the incident took place Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint against 50 Cent. 50 reportedly threatened Gonzales over Instagram, accusing him of “shaking down” the owner of one of the clubs that 50 frequents. “Get the strap” — slang for gun— 50 wrote on Instagram. This resulted in Gonzales receiving death threats from 50’s fans.

A representative for 50 Cent has shared the following statement with TMZ:

“Mr Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward. He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun.”

50 has taken to Instagram to blast Gonzales. Sharing, “this guy is a Gangsta with a badge Emanuel Gonzalez, is not fit to be a commanding officer.”

Back in October, 50 Cent pranked longtime rival Ja Rule by purchasing 200 front-row tickets to one of his concerts, so the gig appeared empty. Devilishly gorgeous revenge for the Fyre Festival fiend.
