Anderson .Paak has just delivered some news that is undoubtedly exciting hip-hop fans around the world, revealing he’s recorded two albums’ worth of material with Dr. Dre.

Back in 2015, the world of hip-hop began to sit up and pay attention to Californian musician Anderson .Paak after he was featured on a number of tracks on Dr. Dre’s Compton.

An exciting album from the hip-hop veteran, it managed to shine a much brighter spotlight on Anderson .Paak, exposing his music to the mainstream.

Before long, .Paak was discussing his relationship with Dr. Dre, explaining that the pair spend plenty of time in the studio together.

“Whenever I’m in town I just go over there and kick it with him and make something, and we just put it away,” Anderson .Paak revealed in a 2016 interview. “I’m always making music so I’m always sending him ideas.”

Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, .Paak again discussed his relationship with Dr. Dre and what it’s like to be in the studio with a legend of the genre.

“Growing up we always used to listen to him,” .Paak recalled. “Snoop [Dogg], [Dr.] Dre, Ice Cube… this is like a part of our musical DNA.

“Both of us are perfectionists, so it’s really frustrating sometimes,” .Paak noted, explaining that the pair “butt heads” on occasion. “And his head is bigger than mine, too. He’s bigger, so it’s like, ‘Alright, Dre, sounds good to me.’”

“I’ve made a lot of music with Dr. Dre,” he explained. “Like, probably two albums’ worth. Honestly, like, it’s music that I really feel like getting out.”

While Anderson .Paak didn’t reveal when we might be hearing these new albums, it definitely sounds as though this is material he wants the public to hear.

In related news, Anderson .Paak recently celebrated a well-deserved Grammy win, sharing the Best Rap Performance award for his track ‘Bubblin’.
