David Bowie and the world of fashion have always been intrinsically linked. Now, legendary skate shoe brand Vans are gearing up to drop a limited capsule of sneakers honouring the late musician.
The line will consist of four of Vans’ most popular shoe styles, with each silhouette featuring a colourway that pays homage to a different Bowie record.

The white Old Skool shoe is based off Bowie’s 1973 record Aladdin Sane, and features Bowie’s iconic lightning bolt.
The Sk8-Hi model also references the Bowie lightning bolt but represents Bowie’s breakthrough record The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
The Slip-On 47 VDX symbolise the Hunky Dory record, sharing a similar colour scheme.
Whilst the Era sneakers share the same psychedelic pattern as Bowie’s Space Oddity record.
The shoes are set to drop on April 4th and are destined to sell like hotcakes, so get in quick.

This isn’t the first instance of footwear brands taking inspiration from the legacy of Bowie. Back in 2017, French footwear label Spring Court unveiled a range of shoes inspired by Bowie. The range featured stars in Bowie’s signature blue and red colourway and an embroidered motif referencing Aladdin Sane.
Back in February, it was revealed that a biopic about David Bowie was in the works. The film is set to explore the story of David Bowie during his first trip to America in 1971, a trip that inspired the creation of Bowie’s most iconic alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust.
