Newcastle indie-rock dreamboats Surf Trash have scored high praise from Skegss, Ruby Fields and Dune Rats. Now, they’re set to go on tour to celebrate their latest EP.
‘Busy Doing Nothing’ was received well, with tracks being played on triple j, as well as the youth broadcaster’s Unearthed digital radio station.
Today we can exclusively reveal that the band will be heading out across the country on a six date tour throughout May and June. Beginning at Sydney’s Metro Lair, the tour will see the band playing a series of all-ages shows, supporting Ruby Fields at an 18+ Newcastle show.
“We’re so excited to hit the road again. Touring and playing shows is very important to us, it’s one the foundations of Surf Trash,” said vocalist and drummer, Andy Scott. “Heading out on this massive headline tour and to be able to play these venues along way is going to be quite special.”
The trio will then head to Wollongong, back up to their hometown of Newcastle for their own show, before heading interstate to shows at Melbourne’s Wrangler Studios, and Central Coast’s Rhythm Hut.

“The bands we’ve asked to come along, like our good friends Milky Thred and the girls of Sk8ergrrrl are going to be absolutely huge,” Scott said.
He adds, “This whole tour has been months in planning, and to finally talk about it has us freaking keen to just hit the road with them!”

The surf loving Newcastle band are bringing along a stack of their best mates across the country. Milky Thred, Sk8ergrrrl, Scoot The Loot, Debbies, Push Bike, Kookshill, The Grogans, Dover Island, Bleach, and Loose Leeches will all support them at differing shows nationally.
