Mark Hoppus has revealed that he has toyed with idea of launching a blink-182 side project tour, in a recent press conference for his side-project, Simple Creatures for Radio 104.5
At the conference, Hoppus was asked whether he would take Simple Creatures, his side project with All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth, on a blink-182 tour. Hoppus revealed that he considered a tour with all members side projects.
This tour would include his project with Blink drummer Travis Barker, +44; Travis Barker’s rap project with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Transplants; and former blink guitarist Tom Delonge’s Angels & Airwaves. He’s gotten this far, he may as well shove in Alkaline Trio and Box Car Racer as well.
“We actually talked about it at one point, doing a Blink and side projects tour where we’d be like Transplants, Angels And Airwaves, blink-182, +44 and everything that anyone has ever been involved with,” Hoppus shared in the conference.
However, Alex Gaskarth argued that it would be pretty impossible to perform such a feat:
“So you’d do one show, and then your voice is blown for a month after doing four sets?”
To which Hoppus responded with “Take a week off to recover. Yeah, we’ve talked about doing things like that. I think it’d be fun.”

Earlier this week, Mark Hoppus opened up about the bands cancelled Fyre Festival set, claiming that if a film were ever to be made about the debacle, he envisions that he would be played by Ryan Gosling.
“That has to be Ryan Gosling for me, of course,” Hoppus shared. “Matt [Skiba] would be played by someone goth-y like Crispin Glover and Travis would be played by Machine Gun Kelly.”
