Icelandic music icon Björk has returned to her old alma mater, hitting up her old school to deliver a DJ set.

Think back to your old high school dances for a moment, and you’ll likely be met with memories of some of the worst tunes going around at the time.

Sure, everyone might call their school years a highlight, but if your senior year was soundtracked by Sidney Samson’s ‘Riverside’ like mine was, then your memories are likely less than stellar.

However, students at Björk’s former school were given a treat recently, with the music legend dropping an impromptu DJ set for their school dance.

Taking to Twitter recently, an Icelandic student took to the social media platform to share two brief videos that show one of the strangest experiences you’ll likely never have.

“Sooooo Björk performed at our school dance,” he wrote, assuring a number of understandably doubtful onlookers that it was really her. “She didn’t sing or anything, she just DJ’d but it was still pretty wild.”

So what sort of tunes was Björk dropping at the school dance? Well, as this lucky student explained, the eclectic musician decided to look back upon her work with Death Grips, dropping in the Californian group’s abrasive track ‘Guillotine’.

Of course, some fans were amazed that only a small amount of poor quality footage of this event exists, with one Twitter user noting, “one of the greatest musicians alive was at ur school and u took 2 blurry videos.”

While it’s currently been a couple of years since Björk was on Australian shores, there’s no word as to whether she might drop in a few impromptu DJ sets when she visits next. Regardless, you might want to start getting your requests sorted now, just in case.
