Pop powerhouse Katy Perry has returned victorious with her dizzying new single ‘Never Really Over,’ her first new music offering since 2017’s Witness.
The track is produced by the King Midas of pop music, Zedd. It has also seen Katy Perry co-write with Australian Idol alumni Hayley Warner, alongside Dan Haywood, Leah Haywood, Dagny, Gino Barletta, Michelle Buzz, and Jason Gill.
“All of our relationships – from first love, through failed love, to great love – all become a part of you, so that none are ever really over, and once you accept both the dark and the light, you may find that the darkness brought you to the light.”
Katy shot the accompanying video with St. Vincent collaborator Phillipa Price. She premiered the video in front of an intimate group of fans at YouTube’s L.A. headquarters Wednesday night. “I would say that [in] this video, things that I’m touching on are kind of [out of] a time like the age of Aquarius, new age, esoteric, California, healing, hippie, medicinal,” she explained to the fans.
