In most excellent news, crop top aficionado Kid Cudi will be joining the new Bill & Ted film.

A press release has confirmed that Cudi will have “a significant role” in the project. Cudi will join Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter who will reprise their titular roles as Ted and Bill. Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine and William Sadler will also feature in the project.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to be released on August 21, 2020. The new film will see Bill & Ted reprise their roles as the affable slacker heroes we know and love. The best friends, now middle-aged, will “set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.”

Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) will direct from a script penned by original creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again. Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm, we’ve got a dream team” said the actors shared on the new film.

Last year Kid Cudi released a joint album with Kanye West under the name Kids See Ghosts.
