Donatella Versace has dedicated her SS20 menswear show to the legacy of late The Prodigy frontman, Keith Flint. Flint passed away in March this year.

This is not the first time the worlds of Versace and Flint have collided. The Prodigy performed at a Versace pre-show in 2004. Flint’s chaotic performance saw him lick members of the audience’s faces, and simulate sexual innuendos. Donatella remembered Flint as “my friend, and a disruptor of this world”.

The Versace collection embodied the rebellious spirit of Flint. Models paced the runway to the band’s iconic track ‘Firestarter’. The models, who all sported double-mohawks of orange, green, yellow and pink, were leather-clad and decked out in bleached tie-dye and leopard print. Versace wore the influence of Keith Flint on their sleeve.

“For this collection, I wanted to explore the elements that empower a man. It’s definitely the confidence, freedom and desire to express himself without hesitation,” Donatella explained, via High Snobiety.

Flint was found dead in his apartment on March 4th. A postmortem examination revealed that Flint died by hanging. There was an unspecified amount of cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system at the time of death.

In May, Caroline Beasley-Murray, Senior Coroner for Essex recorded an open conclusion into his death, concluding that there was not enough evidence to say he had taken his own life.
