Two of the biggest names in hip-hop look set to drop one of the year’s hottest tracks, with Post Malone and Young Thug reportedly set to release a new single this week.

Late last year, Post Malone dished up his latest single, ‘Wow.’. Coming months after the release of his long-awaited, and chart-topping, album Beerbongs & Bentleys, fans quickly started wondering when and if we might be receiving a new record from the music icon.

Back in March though, fans thought they had found their answer, with a leaked collaboration between Young Thug and Posty hitting the internet.

Uploaded to SoundCloud and shared onto sites like Reddit, the tune was ostensibly titled ‘Goodbyes’, and it didn’t take long for it be wiped off from the web.

However, it lasted long enough for some listeners to call it one of the tracks of the year. “this is legitimately beautiful, both of their voices just float on this,” one Reddit user wrote, with another stating that it is simply “a beautiful feel great song.”

Now, it seems like the new track is officially on its way this week.

Announced via a Tweet by HITS Daily Double, Post Malone and Young Thug are set to release their new single ‘Goodbye’ on Friday, July 5th – just one day after Posty’s 24th birthday.

At this stage, there has been no official announcement in regards to the tune’s release, which has just made the hype train gather more and more steam.

Of course, while excitement is rising in regards to this track, some fans are wondering whether this is the start of a new Post Malone album, or the first taste of a long-awaited collaborative effort between the two artists.

Back in 2015, Young Thug explained to Mon Entourage that he was working on a mixtape with the ‘Rockstar’ singer.

“I’m bringing out a mixtape with the Migos, I’m bringing out a mixtape with Fetty Wap, I’m bringing out a mixtape with Post Malone,” he explained. “All of them are done it’s just like four songs left on one of them. But all of them are done. So there’s like 50 more songs.”

Whatever the case, it’s starting to look as though we might finally be closer to an answer this week when ‘Goodbye’ finally drops.
