Adding to the collection of prestigious remixes bestowed upon the country rap hit, Lil Wayne has presented his own verse for his ‘Old Town Road’ remix.

Many celebs have teased the idea of a remix around since the dawning of ‘Old Town Road’s popularity, from Dolly Parton to Mariah Carey, and even Lil Wayne himself.

However, most of these teases can only be summed up as joke-tweets.

Lil Wayne, however, wasn’t joking and took to the Lollapalooza stage on August 3 to premiere a verse for Lil Nas X’s incredible hit.

With lyrics like “I got the horses in the back/ She twerking for a pony, Oh she got that honky-tonky/ I met her on ‘Farmers Only,'” how can you not love this new addition to the song?

‘Old Town Road’ is no stranger to having rap verses being featured over its booming western beats, with Young Thug only recently being featured on an official studio remix.

Let’s not forget that this remix in question also featured Mason Ramsey, the young country-prodigy who originally shot to fame by yodelling in a Walmart.

So as you can see, this recent addition to the remix lineup is nothing short of welcome.

Soon after his performance at Lollapalooza, Lil Wayne will be jumping back on tour with blink-182, with a postponed show in El Paso, to show solidarity for the community after a mass shooting killed 20 people and injured many others at a local Walmart on August 3.

blink-182 took to Twitter to write:

“Following today’s terrible tragedy in El Paso we are postponing our Sunday, August 4th show at the UTEP Don Haskins Arena in solidarity with the community, please stay tuned for further updates coming soon. Sending our love to the entire community of El Paso.”
