It’s been three long years since Phantogram have released new music, but now, the artists behind the still-addictive ‘Fall In Love’ have returned with a new song titled ‘Mister Impossible’.

Phantogram is an American pop duo that has been around since their debut Eyelid Movies in 2010, but really burst onto the scene with their break-out single ‘Fall In Love’ in 2014, which performed incredibly well all across the world.

Since then, they’ve released their third album, aptly titled Three, which was home to the stunning, albeit more pop-focused than usual song, ‘You Don’t Get Me High Anymore’.

Just two weeks ago the band dropped their dark and passionate video for ‘Into Happiness’, and now it seems the duo are heading towards an official album release, with a follow-up tune titled ‘Mister Impossible’ just dropping.

‘Mister Impossible’ is definitely a deviation in sound for Phantogram, but it still keeps a lot of the expected charms that we’ve come to learn from them, fusing electronic, pop and dream-pop sensibilities into one triumphant tune. With this new track, a striking comeback for the band doesn’t seem so impossible.

“Its so electrifying / Right now my mind is opened wide / My heart is satisfied / The light is overflowing” sings Sarah Barthel over pulsating drums and a swirling, driving beat that sounds like chainsaws cutting down trees.

There’s no news on when the next album will actually be released, but we can’t wait to hear this new sound and direction be built upon even more.

Back in 2017, Phantogram visited us folks down here in Australia to cover Radiohead’s ‘Weird Fishes/Arpeggi’ for triple j’s famous Like A Version, in one of the series’ most impressive covers to date.
