Adam Lambert and his former Queen band mates might be one of the hottest acts in the world right now, but Lambert claims he wish he didn’t even have the gig.
In a recent interview with SeriousXM’s Volume, Lambert was adamant that . I wish he were alive so I didn’t even have the gig.
“He was amazing. But I’m thrilled to take the gig and I’m thrilled to be in this incredible, honorable thing that I get to do.”
Lambert and the band are riding high after the success of smash biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, a movie so good that guitarist Brian May and the rest of the band couldn’t get enough of it.
“I keep hearing from so many people, who are maybe slightly older than me — original Queen fans — that come up to me, especially dads: ‘Oh, man, my teenage son loves Queen now'” said Lambert.
“And it’s because of the movie. So I think that’s amazing. And I’m proud of the band and so happy for them that this has sparked this new pop-culture moment for them. They deserve it. And these songs are timeless, and they are fantastic.”
Does Adam Lambert live up to Freddie Mercury’s legacy?
A few weeks ago rumors were sparked that the band might be working on new music – however Lambert quickly quashed these murmurings.
“I haven’t talked to him about it yet. I have to ask, actually. I should text him: ‘What album?'”
While we shouldn’t expect new music any time soon, we’ve got a stadium tour by the band coming down under, which is set to be huge. Details below.
