Foo Fighters continue to cement their status as the most wholesome men in rock. The band took to the stage Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday to deliver a blistering headlining set.
Fooeys have consistently used their platform to champion the next generation of young rockers. Whether that be through Dave Grohl sending out personal messages to young drum prodigy’s, or by inviting 10-year-old guitar wielders to rock out with them mid-set.
Now, the Foo Fighters have invited the spawn of rock royalty up on stage to assist them with a performance of ‘Everlong’. During their set at Beyond & Bourbon, Dave Grohl invited Revel Ian —son of Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian— up on stage to show off his riffing chops.
Scott Ian shared footage of the whole shebang and it is pure as hell. The video shows Grohl introduce Revel to the crowd as “one of my favorite guitar players of all time.” Grohl then continues to invite Revel’s guitar tech “Armando” — aka Scott Ian— on stage to show face. Revel and the Fooeys proceed to rip through a sterling performance of the classic track.
“Proudest dad moment ever?,” Ian wrote on an Instagram post. “How about when your son gets to join his favorite band on stage to play ‘Everlong’ in front of 40,000 people and NAILS IT! Thank you Dave, Taylor, Pat, Nate, Chris, Rami, Gus, Kerwin, Sean, Patrick, Simone and everyone else on the Foo crew for being the best!!!”

In a few days, Foo Fighters will team up with Tenacious D and Weezer for what is destined to be one of the most hair-raising concerts in recent memory.
The trifecta will begin their voyage on September 28th in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil as part of this year’s Rock in Rio, where they will perform alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthrax, Panic! At The Disco and more. They will then move on to Bogota, Colombia’s El Campin Stadium on October 1st.
