We’re thinking Wiley is the only one who still cares about trolling Ed Sheeran at this point.
Not too long ago, Grime’s godfather made it very publicly known what he thought of former collaborator Ed Sheeran. Calling him a culture vulture for appropriating Grime for his own street cred and continued success, Wiley eventually poked the bear hard enough to elicit a reply from Ed.
The reply hasn’t really done much to squash Wiley’s issues with him, it seems, after a couple of bizarre Instagram videos popped up on the rapper’s account this week.
Walking through London in an Ed Sheeran mask, Wiley’s just been popping up in souvenir stores and enjoying the British sun.
Sheeran hasn’t responded to the videos and to be honest, we doubt he will at this point. He’s got money to rake in.
Since Wiley’s ‘culture vulture’ claims made their rounds, other artists from the scene have gotten involved directly or indirectly. Stormzy, who appeared with Sheeran on the grime remix of ‘Take Me Back To London‘, has recently dropped ‘Wiley Flow’, while Tinie Tempah spoke out in support of Sheeran.
“In my opinion, the music that I’m hearing on that record is authentic.” he told NME.
“It sounds authentic and no one sounds out of place on it. For as long as I can remember, I’ve obviously heard Stormzy on that kinda music, but I’ve heard Ed on it too.”
