It’s only five days until the Australian music industry’s cringeworthy night of nights, and no doubt the cheesy performances and lame scripted presenters speeches are being finalised right now. So, who’s going to pull one out of the hat and liven up proceedings? Will someone eclipse Pal Mac’s classic moment when he thanked all of Sydney’s ecstasy dealers when receiving an award in 1996?

Looking at the line up, most of the acts are pretty boring commercial fodder and they’ll be playing it safe with the performances all night. Star on the rise Dan Sultan and star on the way down Guy Sebastian have been added to a line up which also includes Angus & Julia Stone, John Butler Trio, Sia, Washington and Birds of Tokyo.

Reading bad jokes off teleprompters will be Kasey Chambers, Silverchair’s Chris Joannou, Operator Please, Stan Walker, Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson, Jessica Mauboy, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Clare Bowditch, US pop sensation Jason Derulo, You Am I’s Tim Rogers, politician Bob Katter, The Chaser’s Andrew Taylor and Julian Morrow, Spicks & Specks’s Myf Warhurst, Ronan Keating and Axle Whitehead.
