While we still sit and wait for the release of Jesus Is King, Kanye West has continued to be out holding his Sunday Service sessions.
Most recently, the rapper popped up in Salt Lake City and spoke to the huge crowd about justice reform, and the controversy he courted over pro-Trump comments made online last year.
As Complex reports, Kanye reminded the audience that it was a Republican president who abolished slavery, and that he refused to oppose Trump on the basis of his blackness.
“Abraham Lincoln was the Whig Party – that’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves. …I ain’t never make a decision based only on my colour. That’s a form of slavery – mental slavery. I ain’t drink from the white person fountain. …I ain’t playing with them.”
West remained confident in his belief in God and the role faith has played in his life.
“All these mind controllers, the media, all of these mind controllers. I find that wherever Christ is where I’ve got my mind at. We find that the love of Christ is where I’ve got my mind back.”

Only a week ago, Kanye West got fans excited once more about the prospect of new music, holding film screenings of his Jesus Is King documentary.
Since then, the album has seemingly been shelved. The film though, is set to come to selected IMAX cinemas in the US this month.
