As controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine awaits sentencing on racketeering and firearms charges, he’s managed to sign a new record deal with his previous label 10K projects.
6ix9ine has reportedly signed a two-album deal and is required to deliver one album in English and another in Spanish. No solid details about what the two projects will involve have surfaced, and whether the records are set to feature brand new material or previously recorded work remains up in the air.
Over the course of his ephemeral carer, 6ix9ine has attracted a hyper-devoted Latin fanbase. Thus far, he’s only recorded two songs in Spanish, ‘Bebe’ and ‘Mala’. The former track, ‘Bebe’, has racked up a cool 900 million views on Youtube.
The rapper was looking at a minimum of 47 years behind bars, though it stands possible that the judge will reduce his sentence on account of him snitching against two former associates and members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang. 6ix9ine has been in custody since he was arrested in November last year — he is set to receive his sentence on December 18th.
This news comes shortly after it was revealed that 6ix9ine rejected the witness protection program, in favour of attempting to pursue a music career.
After spilling the tea on his former gang affiliates in an effort to save his bacon, everyone assued that 6ix9ine would enter the program. However, he revealed plans to hire 24/7 bodyguards for constant security instead. It is worth noting that one of the associated that Tekashi snitched on was a former bodyguard.
