Parkway Drive announce new documentary, 'Viva The Underdogs'

Aussie metalcore icons Parkway Drive are coming your way for one night only. Don’t look for them on stage though, catch them in cinemas when their Viva The Underdogs documentary releases next year.

For more than 15 years now, Byron Bay icons Parkway Drive have been doing their bit to put Aussie metal on the scene.

Kicking things off with 2005’s Killing With A Smile, it didn’t take long before the band were household names, with every album since reaching the top ten of the ARIA charts, and the last two hitting #1.

After millions of albums sold, countless sold-out shows, global tours, and support slots for living legends, Parkway Drive are set to take their journey to the big screen, announcing the release of their feature-length documentary Viva The Underdogs.

Chronicling their “15-year journey from small town surf-rats to international headliners on the world’s biggest metal music festivals”, Viva The Underdogs is set to once again show fans why Parkway Drive are one of Australia’s most successful exports.

“We have always taken pride in doing things our way,” explains Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall. “For over 15 years we have stayed true to ourselves in a world of extremes.

“We are not the story of shooting star super stardom, we are not the overnight breakout success, we will never be viral and we sure as hell won’t break the internet. But we have a vision, and we have lived for it, worked for it, bled for it, grown for it and broken for it.

Proving that bands can thrive even without a mass of mainstream support, Parkway Drive’s Viva The Underdogs is set to hit cinemas for one night only on January 22nd around the country. Check out all the participating locations below.
