Bury the Moon, the third album from the 27-year-old Ásgeir, arrived on Friday to proffer the world soaring vocal styles, and melancholic electro-pop.

The electronic-folk artist from the Icelandic town of Laugarbakki (populated by just 40 people), write Bury The Moon at a friend’s summerhouse in the Icelandic countryside. Sans studio set up and full band, he spent the winter writing with his guitar.

The result is a sincere, brave and utterly enveloping affair. Bury The Moon might well be Ásgeir’s most sempiternal yet.
