With everyone’s anxiety at an all-time peak with the global pandemic known as COVID-19, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx has asked us not to worry about when things will get to normal, but instead to “do the right thing” and “don’t be selfish.”
It may feel right now like everything will never go back to normal – we’ve seen all concerts put to a stand-still, travel completely halt, and we’ve seen our favourite restaurants and retail stores shut their doors.
But, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has taken the time to remind us that we shouldn’t be thinking of when all the events and shops should return. Instead, we should be focusing on what we need to do to stay safe, and ensure that everyone remains protected.
Taking to Instagram, the esteemed rocker shared a photo of his family, four-legged friends included, and reminded us what this is really all about, and pled to fans to remain calm while in the midst of all the panic and uncertainty.
“We are trying to make each day special while in isolation,” Sixx began. “Somedays it feels like Groundhog Day and other days/nights it feels like a weird vacation.”
“Somedays I can see the frustration building up in my family of not knowing when it’s gonna end and other days I hear laughs and pranks being pulled around the house. There is no perfect answer to this riddle we are going through right now,” he continued.
Next, Sixx gave thanks to those heroes on the frontline, tirelessly saving lives, saying that him and his family are “beyond grateful.”

“I am beyond hopeful we will get through this sooner rather than later. Either which way we’re all in this together,” Sixx wrote. “Be kind to each other, let people know you are there for them (even a simple phone call is enough to change someone’s day).”
In a final message, Sixx asked his fans to keep things relaxed, and worry-free by stating, “don’t worry about sports, concerts or getting back to your life before COVID-19 right now,” instead asking fans to “pray, meditate and let go of the outcome right now.”
“We are powerless. Do the right thing. Don’t be selfish. Don’t act as if you might get it, act as though you might have it and don’t know it. Protect everybody around you and most of all your family and loved ones.”
Although Mötley Crüe are similarly being effected by the uncertainty of when COVID-19 restrictions will ease up, their ‘The Stadium Tour‘ with Def Leppard, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and Poison is reportedly “still a go” according to a chat Billboard had with drummer Tommy Lee.
