AJ Tracey’s hot streak continues on new single ‘Dinner Guest’. The grime star has also confirmed that his Australian tour will now be taking place in January 2021.

It was a little over 12 months ago that London MC AJ Tracey dropped his self-titled debut album. The critically lauded record made it to the UK top ten and gave us one of the hip hop jams of the summer in ‘Ladbroke Grove’. But Tracey – real name Ché Wolton Grant – is reluctant to let this momentum rest.

He’s released a trio of singles over the last six months with help from some grime heavy-hitters. Skepta joined for ‘Kiss and Tell’ last November, and Tracey then teamed up with Mancunian newcomer Aitch on ‘Rain’ in March. Tracey’s newest release is ‘Dinner Guest’, a spring-loaded collaboration with North London’s MoStack.

The track includes a couple of shout-outs to R&B vocalist Jorja Smith. “I’m so drunk, I might DM Jorja Smith tonight / She’s got a wedding ring and she’s in my ride,” raps MoStack in the third verse. Tracey continues the theme in the next verse, rapping “My broski will make this Smith sing like it’s Jorja.”

Tracey has history with Smith – he sampled her song ‘Wandering Romance’ for the chorus of  ‘Ladbroke Grove’. Following the song’s success, Smith joined Tracey in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform the hook live.
