Strewth – where does sex god and rock icon Jarvis Cocker find the time? In addition to his weekly Sunday Service BBC Radio show, as well preparing for Pulp’s reformation tour next year, Jarvis Cocker is set to be the narrator of several performances of the Children’s classic opera, Peter and the Wolf. Cocker is headed to London’s Southbank Centre where he will be joining the Philharmonia Orchestra for several Christmas performances of Profokiev’s family favourite. Ever the humble rock star, who is acutely aware of the lauded company he’s keeping in the role, said he was “honoured to be following in the footsteps of such luminaries as David Bowie, Sean Connery and Dame Edna Everidge.”
