“Bullet hole in my windshield today, Los Angles Police Department asked me if I have any enemy’s I said ‘yes’ and named 3 people,” wrote Cazares. “Let’s see where this investigation goes. LAPD said it looks like a 45 caliber, it’s a big bullet.”

In a follow-up tweet, Cazares explained why the bullet didn’t completely shatter the windshield, chalking it up to the metal bar that’s part of the frame that holds the front dash stopped it”.

It’s been a bizarre few months for Fear Factory. At the tail-end of 2020, frontman Burton C. Bell confirmed that he would be leaving the pioneering industrial metal act, citing internal legal issues and a consistent series of dishonest representations and unfounded accusations from past and present band members”.

In a lengthy open letter shared to his personal website, the former frontman detailed a number of personal grievances he had with the band.

The decision came mere weeks after Fear Factory launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for their new album, a crowdfunding effort that did not align with Bell’s values.

“Let me be clear: I am not part of, nor am I benefitting from, any GoFundMe campaign,” he wrote.

Despite Bell’s departure, Cazares confirmed that Fear Factory will be releasing a new album in “two or three months.”
