Two of musical’s greats have been combined in an epic mashup of ‘Paris’ by Kane West and Jay Z and ‘Ride the Lightning’ by Metallica. The song has been dubbed “Lightning in Paris” by YouTube user William Maranci.

The song starts with the iconic line from Paris, “We’re going to schedule one song, and one song only”. It then switches over to Lars Ulrich bashing the drums at a live concert set. The video continues to switch between live performances from all three artists, and expertly weaves together the two songs.

“So I ball so hard motherfuckers wanna fine me/ But first n***as gotta find me/ What’s fifty grand to a motherfucker like me?/ Can you please remind me?“ Jay Z raps over the top of James Hatfield rocking out on guitar.

It’s not the first Metallica mash-up that has graced our ears in recent times. In an unlikely pairing, the same YouTube user mixed up Metallica’s ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ and Mariah Carey iconic, ‘All I want for Christmas’.

It seems as though ol’ Maranci has a bit of a thing for Metallica mash ups, he also bought us the combination of My Chemical Romance’s ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ mixed with ‘But It’s Master of Puppets’ By Metallica.

He has gained quite the following for his musical creations, boasting over 267,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. Take a scroll through his other creations and you’ll find some delightful mixtures. Kanye West’s ‘Stronger’ mixed with ‘Float On’ by Modest Mouse deserves a special mention.

All we know about the mysterious YouTube producer is in his bio, “An alternate musical reality.  A Dunkin’ Coffee-fueled madman.  A prolific musician/nutjob.  He goes by many names such as Dumphop, CoffeeDude, Funnels…, and Alice in 2 Chainz, but most know him as William Maranci, the Massachusetts-based mashup madman.”
