Live music is officially back baby and Young Henrys are celebrating by enlisting the help of dreampop trailblazer Hatchie for a free live performance in Sydney this March.
On Sunday, March 7th Hatchie and her band will grace the stage of Park House Hotel in Mona Vale — which is probably the only thing in the world that would get me to haul ass all the way to the Northern Beaches.
The Brisbane-based musician has cemented her status as one of the most compelling artists on the Australian music scene since the release of her 2017 debut single ‘Try.’ Hatchie has earned kudos from the likes of Pitchfork to Adult Swim. Her track ‘Sure’ was even remixed by Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie way back in 2017. .
Entry to the gig is free and a first-come, first-served affair. There will be two performances, kicking off at the perfect mid-arvo hour of 3pm. Hatchie will be joined by local-legend merci, mercy, who immediately won over the hearts of Aussie music fans with her excellent debut single ‘Fucked Myself Up.’
It’s destined to be an afternoon of total opulence, ice-cold Young Henrys brews and gin will be flowing, sumptuous shoegazy pop will be playing, the vibes will be immaculate.
Young Henrys’ Best Served Loud live music series first kicked off in Melbourne back in 2019, before making its way up to Sydney in 2020 when the good dudes at Young Henrys helped bring live music back to Waywards, The Bank after months of closure. It’s gonna be a celebration.
