Believe the hype! Rappers Nas and A$AP Rocky are about to be the latest artists turned actors to star in a Netflix movie.
As reported by Highsnobiety, the upcoming movie categorises itself in the drama variety and is also based on a 1999 novel from the author, Walter Dean Myers, Monster.
The plot follows a 17-year old teenage boy by the name of Steve Harmon, portrayed by Kelvin Harrison, Jr., an honour student who attends an elite high school in Harlem.
Harmon has a knack for film and the drama unfolds as he is charged with felony murder and is then subsequently thrown into a difficult legal battle that could potentially see him sentenced to jail for his entire life.
As reported by Highsnobiety, the film has been co-executive produced by Nas, John Legend and more, and directed by Anthony Mandler. It also premiered for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018.

In other recent Netflix news, the streaming platform recently acquired the rights to a Kanye West documentary for a cool $30 million. The project at this stage is still yet to be named and is being constructed by two music video makers and filmmakers who you may know by the names, Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, commonly known and referred to as Coodie & Chike.
