Legendary The Clash, and latterly Gorillaz performer Paul Simonon, has been reportedly admitted to a Sydney hospital. Sources suggest he has suffered a stroke. Simonon has been touring Australia with Gorillaz and is also the subject of Pennie Smith’s amazing photo of him smashing his bass guitar on stage while playing. The cover of London Calling would later be judged one of the best of all time. While we wait for more details, we wish Paul the very best.

UPDATE: Tone Deaf is relieved to hear that Paul has made a full recovery from a mystery illness whilst on tour with Gorillaz.  It has been reported that Simonon was taken to hospital only yesterday. Although we have no confirmation from promoters, Simonon is expected to play the rest of the tour, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.

From all reports so far the Gorillaz tour has been mind blowing.
