Reunion rumours began flying around last week when former Sepultura front man Max Cavalera told a rock website that the band’s bass player Pauli Pinto Jr was the only person standing in the way of an original line up reunion. Max quit the band in 1996 when they decided to fire their manager – who also happened to be his wife.

Although he went on to form Soulfly and was joined by his brother – former Sepultura drummer Igor – he’d been hinting at a reunion over the last few months. It looks like there’s still bad blood, however, as Sepultura have gone to the trouble of filming a video in which they quash all reunion talk.

Kisser says in it: “We’re working on a new album we’re going to release next year. We just signed with Nuclear Blast Records and we have a worldwide plan for 2011 and 2012. We’re going to be on the road with this formation, the Sepultura we are today.Don’t listen to rumours any more. We’re tired of listening to the bullshit that Max is talking all over the world. There’s no communication. There’s no talks about any type of reunion with the Cavaleras. Igor is doing his job, Max is supposed to his job and we’re doing our job. We’re Sepultura for 26 years and we’re celebrating it. I hope this is the end of the rumours and lies.”
