Australian music business mogul Michael Gudinski has begun working to galvanise the local music industry into staging a sequel to the phenomenally successful Sound Relief concerts of 2009 to aid flood relief in Queensland.

The first Sound Relief concerts, held in March 2009 to raise money to aid the victims of Victoria’s bushfire tragedy the previous month were a sell out success, with gigs held simultaneously at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground  and featuring performances from Jet, Kings of Leon, Midnight Oil, Kasey Chambers, Jack Johnson, Kylie Minogue, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and Olivia Newton-John amongst a cast of thousands.

Rumours floating around suggest that Powderfinger may reform for the forthcoming shows; while Cold Chisel, country artists Lee Kernaghan and Keith Urban, and nanna favourite Michael Buble could be performing.
